The SUV, which was spot, even being under camouflage, looked boxy and upright, with proper Mahindra DNA. The raised bonnet and the vertical-slat grille dominated the front, likely housing the Mahindra logo at the centre. Circular LED projector headlights and integrated fog lamps were visible. From the side, large square windows, strong body cladding and a planted stance give a dominating feel. The test mule appears to ride on 18-inch alloy wheels, similar to the XUV700. Flush door handles hint at a more modern, urban appeal.

The rear depicts the classic Bolero roots with a side-hinged tailgate and a spare wheel mounted on it. Slim taillights and a compact bumper complete the clean, functional look.

With the Vision X architecture, the Bolero Neo could feature a modern cabin layout. Spy shots suggest a layout close to the concept, featuring a large infotainment screen, a digital driver’s display, and vertical AC vents. A two-spoke steering wheel, in line with Mahindra’s latest design language, also makes an appearance. Expect better materials, improved ergonomics, and a more premium feel overall.

Under the hood, Mahindra is likely to borrow engines from the XUV 3XO lineup:

  • 1.2-litre turbo-petrol
  • 1.5-litre diesel

The rear wheels have been pushed further back to increase the wheelbase, which should give better cabin space and improved ride comfort. Staying under 4 metres for tax benefits, this SUV will sit in the highly competitive sub-compact segment. It will go up against rivals like the Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet and Mahindra’s own XUV 3XO. Mahindra is expected to unveil the production version around mid 2026, targeting the festive season. Pricing is likely to fall between ₹10 Lakh and ₹17 Lakh on-road in Mumbai.
