‘Sherlock’ already has a replacement, and it is number 1 in 41 countries

Benedict Cumberbatch has solidified his status as one of Hollywood’s most important stars, largely thanks to his acclaimed role as Sherlock Holmes in the series Sherlock. Since its premiere in 2010, the series created by Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss captivated audiences with its innovative storytelling and episodes that, while standalone, followed continuous story arcs.

After the release of its fourth season in 2017, fans have eagerly awaited a continuation, but the schedules of Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman have made the possibility of a return increasingly unlikely.

Almost a decade after the end of the original series, fans of the famous detective can celebrate the premiere of The Young Sherlock, a new production from Prime Video that offers a fresh perspective on the iconic character created by Arthur Conan Doyle.

This series, produced by Guy Ritchie, follows a 19-year-old Sherlock Holmes as he begins his detective career at the University of Oxford, facing his first case amid an international conspiracy. The premise, which showcases the origins of the renowned investigator, has been well received, achieving an 84% positive rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Since its launch last week, The Young Sherlock has become the most popular series on Prime Video in 41 countries, according to FlixPatrol. This success highlights the renewed interest in Sherlock Holmes stories, especially in their more youthful format.

The first season of six episodes is already available on the platform, offering viewers a chance to rediscover the most famous detective in literature from a new and exciting perspective.
