Escape from Tarkov confirms first-ever crossover with Escape from Duckov

Escape from Tarkov officially confirms its first major collaboration with Escape from Duckov, marking a historic crossover event teased for weeks and coming soon to both games.

Battlestate Games has confirmed Escape from Tarkov’s first ever major collaboration with satire extraction shooter Escape from Duckov. Both studios had dropped cryptic hints regarding the crossover over the past few weeks, but it was officially announced through a post teasing “Escape from Tarkov x Escape from Duckov.”

Details on the collaboration are scarce, but we do know that it is planned to arrive sometime soon. Escape from Tarkov has never done collaborations before, focusing instead on its gritty realism and hardcore fanbase. Teaming up with Escape from Duckov shows that Battlestate is letting their hair down for once.

From Teasers to Confirmation

For several weeks now, players have spotted some very conspicuous teases from both Battlestate Games and Team Soda, developer of Escape from Duckov. Images were shared between the two studios seemingly plucked straight from Escape from Tarkov, along with plenty of jokes that tested the limits of what could be considered parody versus crossover appetizers.

Today’s reveal makes it abundantly clear that those teases were anything but coincidental.Image sent out today confirms the crossover is happening. While no official date has been set on the Escape from Tarkov side of things just yet, we at least know it is coming “soon” according to Battlestate.

Time will tell just how involved Duckov elements will be in the Tarkov universe.

About Escape from Duckov

Released just over a year ago, Escape from Duckov was essentially designed from the ground up to serve as a “parody” spiritual successor to the extraction shooter genre.

What players didn’t expect was just how similar the game played when compared to Escape from Tarkov.

Escape from Duckov features:

  • Intense extraction based gameplay
  • Weapon itemization
  • Variety of playable areas
  • Dedicated vendors
  • Questing
  • Hideout progression loop

For the most part, Escape from Duckov plays like Tarkov if you swap out mercenaries for gun-wielding ducks and the grit for silliness. The humour was enough of a compliment to the base game that Escape from Duckov went from joke to full fledged cult classic in a matter of months.

What Could the Crossover Include?

There hasn’t been any word from Battlestate on what to expect from their side of the deal just yet. However you can bet the forums have been hot with speculation.

Players are expecting:

  • Duck-themed cosmetics / decorations inside Tarkov
  • Some sort of festival-themed event
  • Tarkov bosses given the Duckov treatment

On the Escape from Duckov side of things, we have a bit more information. Team Soda is reporting that their version of the crossover is releasing February 10 with:

  • A new map
  • Festival-themed updates
  • Tarkov bosses as duck variants

This would strongly indicate that Escape from Tarkov may be receiving its own update within that timeframe as well.
