2026 Tesla Model Y Premium RWD Launched in India
- Priced at Rs. 50.89 lakh, ex-showroom
- Top-spec Premium Long Range RWD discontinued
Tesla India has introduced the 2026 iteration of the Model Y Premium RWD in India, bringing with it a suite of design and feature enhancements over the outgoing version. Priced at Rs. 50.89 lakh, ex-showroom, the new variant is available to order now with deliveries commencing in July 2026. Simultaneously, the top-spec Premium Long Range RWD has been discontinued, leaving the Model Y lineup with two variants going forward.
The 2026 Model Y Premium RWD introduces meaningful updates to the cabin. The interior is now available in two themes – an all-black option with a fully blacked-out headliner and premium trim, and a new Zen Grey interior that brings a minimalist character to the cabin. The centrepiece of the updated interior is a larger 16-inch first-row touchscreen, an upgrade over the previous unit.
On the performance and practicality front, the Model Y Premium RWD accelerates from 0 to 100kmph in 5.9 seconds and offers a claimed WLTP range of up to 500km. It seats five passengers and offers 2,138 litres of total storage space, with power-folding rear seats.
For those looking to manage the financial outlay, Tesla is offering the Model Y Premium RWD at a monthly EMI starting at Rs. 39,990 with a down payment of Rs. 6 lakh, based on a seven-year tenure at 8.5 per cent APR under a step-up EMI plan.
The discontinuation of the Long Range RWD, previously priced at Rs. 67.89 lakh, means the Model Y range now consists of just two variants – the Premium RWD at Rs. 50.89 lakh and the Model Y L Premium AWD at Rs. 61.99 lakh. The latter, launched last month, is a six-seater with a three-row layout, a claimed WLTP range of 681km, a 0-100 kmph time of five seconds, and 2,539 litres of cargo space. The Rs. 11.10 lakh gap between the two variants is a wide one, with no middle ground option currently available in the lineup.
