Actor Varun Dhawan, who is stepping into Salman Khan’s shoes for Shuddhi, has decided to remain silent regarding the project.
Speaking about the movie, Varun Dhawan said, “I will not say anything about Shuddhi. People have said a lot about it, but as an actor, my job is to act… just talking about it is not going to help. So, all that I will do is act, and then let the audience decide.”
Shuddhi, which is to be directed by Karan Malhotra, features Varun and Alia Bhatt in key roles.
Earlier, producer Karan Johar had confirmed Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor Khan as the lead pair in Shuddhi, and then Salman’s name was announced for the film. But just last month, Karan Johar declared that Varun and Alia had been finalized for the film.
Varun said, “There are a lot of new things in this film, and there are also a lot of rumours doing the rounds regarding this film.”
“But all I will say is don’t listen to any rumours. It’s a completely different film,” adds the 28-year-old actor.
This will be Varun and Alia’s third movie together after Student of the Year and Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania. Shuddhi is expected to hit the theaters during Diwali next year.
Varun’s upcoming project is Dilwale by Rohit Shetty, in which he will be paired with Heropanti actor Kriti Sanon. Apart from the aforementioned films, he will soon be seen in ABCD 2,directed by Remo D’Souza, which is set to release on June 19.
