Two days after Delhi High Court rejected his interim bail plea in a domestic violence case filed by his wife, the former Delhi law minister Somnath Bharti continues to evade arrest.
Delhi Police, which has been trying hard to nab the absconding AAP MLA, said they have raided his places in Agra but he managed to flee before they reached.
Deependra Pathak, Joint CP, South West district said Bharti is behaving live a professional criminal but police will be able to arrest him very soon.
“He is behaving like a professional criminal. He is moving in different disguise. Police team conducted raid to a place in Agra, but he had already left that place.”
“As per our information he is taking help of those people. We are tracking him. He was a law minister and he should join investigation,” added Pathak.
The Supreme Court will on Monday hear Somnath Bharti’s plea for suspension of his arrest.
The AAP MLA from Malviya Nagar has moved the apex court after the Delhi High Court declined his plea for anticipatory bail in the case.
Bharti was named in a FIR registered in Dwarka in west Delhi by his wife who alleged domestic violence and attempt to murder, and attempt to cause miscarriage without her consent.
