Union HRD Minister and BJP leader Smriti Irani is in Amethi today for a day on the occasion of first anniversary of Narendra Modi government at the Center.

Addressing a public meeting here she highlighted the achievements of one-year old BJP-led Narendra Modi government.

She categorically spoke about works done by her government for the welfare of people of Amethi and nearby areas.

“What couldn’t be done in years, BJP government has done in just 1 year and initiated the project of Amethi-Unchahar railway line,” she said.

“People had asked a year earlier whether Narendra Modi and Smriti Irani will remember the people of Amethi after coming to power? The result is in front of you,” she added.

This is her second visit to Amethi within a fortnight and comes close on the heels of a three-day tour by Congress vice-president and sitting MP Rahul Gandhi.

She further said that the entire world is today looking towards India.

Smriti had unsuccessfully contested last year’s Lok Sabha polls against Rahul from this VIP constituency.
