NCP president Sharad Pawar was injured on Wednesday when he slipped during his morning walk at his residence in New Delhi. He has been airlifted to Mumbai by air ambulance.
Pawar, 73, is reported to have suffered injuries in his leg and back and will be admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai, sources said.
His wife Pratibha and daughter Supriya Sule are accompanying him.
Pawar slipped during his usual morning walk at his Janpath bungalow, sources said, but did not elaborate further on his condition.
Pawar, who left Congress and formed Nationalist Congress Party in 1999, is currently a member of Rajya Sabha.
He is a three-time chief minister of Maharashtra and a former Union minister.
