If reports are to be believed, filmmaker-actor Farhan Akhtar may soon team up with Salman Khan, reminding many of their fathers’ hit jodi, Salim-Javed, which gave many Bollywood hits including the classic Amitabh Bachchan-Dharmendra-Jaya Bachchan-Hema Malini-starrer Sholay. While admitting to have met Salman, Farhan has denied that any film is in the pipeline.
A report said Farhan and Salman recently met and discussed a film. “Farhan came over to Salman Khan’s home and they discussed a film in great length. It is not certain if Farhan will be producing or directing the project but they sounded quite enthusiastic about working together,” it quoted a source as saying.
A Times of India report quoted Farhan as saying, “There is no plan to work with him in any film right now.” He, nonetheless, claimed that Salman “is a family friend” and the two have been exchanging ideas.
Meanwhile, Farhan has completed shooting for Shonali Bose’s The Sky is Pink with Priyanka Chopra and has begun preparation for his next with Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, Toofan. The Sky is Pink marks Priyanka’s return to Bollywood after a long time – while she was last seen in Isn’t It Romantic in Hollywood but hasn’t featured in a Hindi movie since Jai Gangaajal.
Salman, on the other hand, is gearing up for the release of his next film with Katrina Kaif,Bharat. He is also shooting with Sonakshi Sinha for Dabangg 3 and has another Sanjay Leela Bhansali film lined up opposite Alia Bhatt, titled Inshallah.
