Chennai Express is a very rare combination of Comedy with action that too Rohit Shetty ishtyle. It’s a story of a 40 year old guy Rahul(SRK) and Meenamma(Deepika padukone) who speaks hindi in Tamil tone, which is quite funny. Rahul is just a typical north Indian guy who has to go to Rameshewaram and he gets to meets Deepika Padukone in the train who was been kidnapped by her own family.
The amazing thing about the movie is how Rohit Shettykeeps these two triumphing facts at the forth and merges it with Southern touch along with SRK’s trademark romance. Though for some it might sound like a bad idea but this movie carries it all right from Meena’s Tamil tone to Rahul’s Romance and to end with the typical Mass fight. The music was not a hit initially but it picked well when Priyamani comes to the item song one two three four……get on the dance floor.
An entertainer right from the word go which refuses to go.. Chennai Express again proves that Rohit Shetty is a diehard bollywood lover.. and a filmmaker who understands the pulse of his audience and the image of his lead actor and moulds it so well with his script that the characters in his movie look tailor made for that role.. he makes SRK and Deepika such a delightful, ordinary-extraordinary pair. Their sequences are hilarious and thanks to the writers Yunus Sajawal and Robin Bhatt who show great consistency in providing moments of fun, drama, action, romance from time to time as prescribed by the genre.
King Khan Shah Rukh Khan is in terrific form here.. his fans will have a great time watching SRK at his best and even improvising himself.. a terrifically entertaining performance.
The year 2013 seems to be named after Deepika Padukone who shows such tremendous confidence in her role as Meena.. the actress is outstanding simply brilliant.. her accent, her look, her poise everything is so effortless.. Deepika does complete justice to her role and walks with all the flying colours..Absolutely marvelous performance.
Vishal-Shekhar’s soundtrack is in color of the film and sounds good. Titli is melodious, 1234 is peppy. The lungi dance .. tribute to Rajinikanth is also foot tapping.
