Rapper Lil Snupe died, seemingly sometime in the wee hours of Thursday morning, after apparently being shot. While details are somewhat scarce, MTV shared the latest on June 20.
According to a statement released to MTV News by Louisiana’s Winnfield City Police Department on Thursday (June 20), officers responded to calls of a shooting at the Maplewood Apartments at 1901 South Jones Street at approximately 4:07 a.m. Thursday morning. On arrival, they found Lil Snupe (born Addarren Ross) had been mortally wounded with two shots to the torso area.
“A motive has not been established at this time,” the police department told us in a statement, adding that an investigation is open and under way.
Lil Snupe, 18, was signed by Meek Mill’s Dream Chasers last year. The young rapper’s manager, Leem 7st, is the one who seems to have broken the news of the rapper’s death, but he has not confirmed further details.
Lil Snupe and Meek first met at a Louisiana tour stop at Grambling State University late last year. The then-17-year-old passed his demo along to the Maybach Music MC, and he made quite an impression because he was signed to the MMG rapper’s imprint, Dream Chasers, almost immediately.
