Luka Chuppi, which starred Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon in lead roles, was a blockbuster hit at the box office. But when the film’s success was only credited to Kartik, the actress felt that it was unfair that her name was not mentioned alongside that of the male actor.
So much so, that there were reports suggesting that they were not on talking terms. However, the Luka Chuppi actors rubbished the rumor and laughed it off saying that they were cool with each other.
In an interview, Kriti, who is gearing up for the release of her upcoming film Panipat, opened up in detail about the Luka Chuppi debate – wherein a section of people attributed the film’s success to Kartik Aaryan, her co-star.
She said, “Kartik and I were talking about it a few days ago. There weren’t actually too many people who contributed to this debate. The conversation started after a headline stating ‘Mr Bachchan’s Badla and Kartik Aryan’s Luka Chuppi do well at the box office’ surfaced.”
Recalling Taapsee Pannu’s tweet about her film Badla, Kriti said, “Taapsee (Pannu) pointed it out and tweeted that female actors have also worked in these films. Though it happens at times, I think most people are scared nowadays about not mentioning the work of female actors; they fear that we might tweet about it.”
