Aam Aadmi Party leader Kumar Vishwas on Monday responded to rumours about his alleged illicit relationship with an AAP volunteer. He said that it was a controversy against him.
“We will not be affected or frightened away by such attempts to malign us with lies. We will fight till our last breath against political corruption,” he said.
He urged his opponents to spare his family.
“Stage a fake accident, get me killed, but don’t assassinate my character,” he said.
Talking about the DCW notice, Vishwas said he would reply when he received it.
He said the woman in question was confused as to what to do in the case. He said he received an email from her two days ago to know about the course of action against trolls who were spreading the rumours.
He said that woman hadn’t mentioned illicit relationship in the FIR she filed yesterday.
The woman, however, said in an interview that she was not educated and couldn’t operate an email account.
The woman, who claims to have campaigned for Vishwas in Amethi during the 2014 Lok Sabha election, said: “Just because of this allegation my husband has left me. I have two kids. I come from a middle class family where they feel that since Kumar Vishwas is AAP spokesperson and a known face, maybe there was something between the two.
“I am unable to explain. That’s why I want Kumar Vishwas to speak on this but he is not doing so. That’s why I had to go to the Women’s Commission.”
She alleged that she also received a threatening call over her complaint.
In a major embarrassment for the Aam Aam Aadmi, party leader Kumar Vishwas was on Monday served a notice by Delhi Commission for Women on a female volunteer’s complaint seeking a statement from him on rumours of his illicit sexual relationship with her.
The woman, who had campaigned for Vishwas in Amethi during Lok Sabha elections, said in the complaint that rumours of her illicit relationship were being spread through social media. She said Kumar Vishwas’ wife was also spreading such rumours.
