Khatron Ke Khiladi 7: Five reasons to watch Arjun Kapoor’s debut show

3 min read

The Indian version of Fear Factor that first premiered on Sony TV in 2006 with Mukul Dev as host, has come a long way. The series was relaunched in 2008 on Colors, as Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi (KKK) with Akshay Kumar as host and since then has become one of the most eagerly-awaited reality shows on Indian television. What works in favour of the show is its continuous effort to rediscover itself with each season (locations, stunts and format) and also reinvent its persona with a change of hosts, from Akshay Kumar to Priyanka Chopra to Rohit Shetty.

The seventh season of the show, which will premiere on January 30, and then be aired every Sat-Sun at 9 pm, looks like it’s set for another fresh innings as Arjun Kapoor, 31, marks his television debut as the host of the show. Here are five reasons why you should tune into the show this time around.

Arjun Kapoor impresses with KKK 7 task on Bigg Boss finale: Arjun Kapoor and a few of the Khatron Ke Khiladi 7 contestants-Raghav Juyal, Sidharth Shukla, Mahii Vij and Sana Saeed– promoted their upcoming show on Bigg Boss 9 finale. The KKK 7 participants were teamed up with Bigg Boss finalists-Rochelle Rao, Mandana Karimi, Rishabh Sinha and Prince Narula and were asked to carry out the Kabhi Peeda, Kabhi Keeda task. Guiding, encouraging and reprimanding the participants in just the correct doses, Arjun Kapoor looked at ease in his new role. Chances are he will impress more in the actual show.

The show gets younger in its seventh year: Arjun at 31 neither considers previous hosts Akshay Kumar (48) and Rohit Shetty (41) as his competition, nor does he want to be compared to them. And rightly so. At 31, he is yet to explore his full potential, is open to experiments and can be forgiven even if he goes wrong. Most importantly, his energy level and enthusiasm for hosting can be seen in the promos of Khatron Ke Khiladi 7.

Entertainment quotient goes a notch up:
The latest installment of the show looks high on Bollywood masala as well as dance numbers. The actor cashes in on his Gunday and Ishaqzaade image and is even seen gyrating to his popular dance numbers like Chhokra Jawaan Re, in between the action-packed sequences. This not only takes the pressure off the contestants; it adds to the entertainment value of the show.

Beautiful locales of Argentina: Apart from the 14 contestants and host Arjun Kapoor, Argentina is also expected to regale the audience with its beautiful beaches and locations.

The magic of celebrities: Like in other seasons, this time too the show banks on celebrities. TV personalities Jay Bhanushali, Sidharth Shukla, Faisal Khan, Mahhi Vij, Sana Saeed, Himmanshoo Malhotra, Aishwarya Sakhuja, Tina Dutta, Vivan Bhatena, Miss India Parvathy Omanakuttan, Bollywood actor Tanishaa Mukerji, Indian hockey player Yuvraj Walmiki and dancers Mukti Mohan and Raghav Juyal will be seen performing the stunts on the show, and for fans it will be a delight to watch them overcoming their fears and rising above them.
