If you were to list the most popular on-screen jodis of the 90s, there’s no way you will miss Govinda and Karisma Kapoor. The two have been part of a series of hit films, including ‘Hero No. 1’, ‘Haseena Maan Jaayegi’, ’Raja Babu’ and ‘Khuddar’.
Recently, Karisma, who is judging the dance reality show, ‘Dance India Dance’, recalled the time she used to work with the actor and also credited him for teaching her dance with feel.
The actress recalled how, during rehearsals, they would learn the steps and all the technical details of the dance. However, during the final take, Govinda would ask her to add some feel to the dance as well. This ‘feel’, Karisma said, made their chemistry work on and off screen.
The actress also shared how she has been his fan since childhood. According to Karisma, she first watched him dance live when she was 12 or 13 years old.
Govinda was doing a show with actress Neelam — another hit pair — at the Shanmukhananda Hall in Sion, and Karisma forced her parents (Randhir Kapoor and Babita) to take her for it. She was so excited to watch her screen idol live, she couldn’t stop clapping her hands.
Karisma said that she considers herself lucky that she could work in so many films with Govinda.
