Jiah Khan‘s mother has issued a statement to the police in relation to the death of her daughter last night (June 3).

Jiah’s body was discovered by her mother Rabiya Amin and her sister at her Juhu flat. She had committed suicide between 11pm and 11.30pm. Rabia Amin further said that she was upset about an audition in Hyderabad on Sunday. The audition apparently had not gone well with the producers telling Jiah she would be required to put on more weight for the film.

“This was something Jiah was completely against. She didn’t want to do it. She came back from Hyderabad extremely distressed. She had a conversation with her mother saying this entire film industry thing wasn’t working out and that maybe she might want to quit the film industry”.

According to Jiah Khan’s mother, Rabia Amin, the actress wanted to leave the film industry and opt for another career. She also hinted that she wanted to do interior designing.

This was the first time that Jiah Khan’s mother spoke after Jiah committed suicide by hanging herself in her apartment on Monday night.

This could possibly be one of the reasons why Jiah committed suicide. Reports are coming in that her relationship with Suraj Pancholi could also be a reason for her depression.

Mahesh Bhatt, who reportedly came to the residence on hearing the news, told press that the actress had been extremely unhappy for the past two or three years, was extremely depressed and had been suffering from mood swings.

The actress’s last rites have not yet been performed as the family is waiting for her friends and relatives to arrive from London, where she was born and brought up.
