Australia were bowled out for 65 by India in a ICC Champions Trophy warm-up match today in a blow to their morale ahead of their title defence.
Already shorn of injured captain Michael Clarke, who is a doubt for their tournament opener against England on Sunday (NZT), the Australians allowed India to rack up 308 for six before being skittled out cheaply to lose by 243 runs.
The star of the Indian bowling attack was Umesh Yadav who picked up 5 wickets for 18 runs. Not a single batsman in the Australian side could even cross the 25-run mark. Ishant Sharma too managed to pick up 3 wickets for 11 runs.
Earlier in the day, India scored 308 after some major blows in the initial overs. India were 55/5 at one stage, but a brilliant century by Dinesh Karthik, with able support from Captain Dhoni (91) helped India put up the mammoth score of 308/6.
Karthik scored 146 from 140 balls.
The ICC Champions Trophy warm-up match was being played at Cardiff, England.
