Hollywood actress Helen Mirren, the Oscar and Golden Globe winner is set to star in DreamWorks Studios’ drama The Hundred-Foot Journey along with Indian-American actor Manish Dayal. The project is all about the showdown between an Indian and French restaurant.
The film will be helmed by Lasse Hallstrom and produced by Steven Spielberg, Oprah Winfrey and Juliet Blake. In the film a culinary battle will begin between an Indian restaurant, started by an Indian family in Southern France, and a French restaurant. The battle will ultimately assess the power of family, reliability and love. The Hundred-Foot Journey will go on floors in September and will be released on August 8, 2014 in U.S.
The film will be distributed by Reliance in India while the domestic distribution of the film will be looked after by Walt Disney Company along with other international markets. While Mirren is a celebrated name in Hollywood for her work in The Queen, The Madness of King George, Gosford Park, The Last Station and recently Hitchcock, Dayal has starred in the likes of White Frog, The Sorcerer’s Apprentice and others.
