Funding row: Arvind Kejriwal dares government to arrest him

In a reply to BJP’s mounting attack on AAP’s dubious donations drive, Arvind Kejriwal, on Tuesday, dared the government to “arrest” him and said the party was ready to face the investigation.

“The government is in your hands. All the police and investigating agencies are with you. The CBI, Enforcement Directorate, IB and I-T department are with you. If you have the courage why don’t you arrest me,” PTI quoted Kejriwal.

Kejriwal, at his rally in the Trilokpuri constituency, hit back at Arun Jaitley for his statements that “AAP was caught red-handed” in receiving “dubious” funds.

Former AAP member Shazia Ilmi, who has recently joined the BJP, also took a dig at Kejriwal on Twitter: “They talk about an internal lokpal. But no one cares about accepting donations of Rs2 crore. Kejriwal is hiding behind a false image of honesty and trying to fool people.”
Accusing BJP of trying to defame him ahead of the elections, defiant Kejriwal said “We have already forewarned about this mud-slinging. It happened during Lok Sabha polls too. BJP has lost ground, and therefore it is throwing mud at us”.
