A farmer in Punjab who had met Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi last month has committed suicide.
The 60-year-old farmer in Dadu Majra (Fatehgarh Sahib district, Punjab), had last month briefed Rahul about farmers’ plight in the state.
The deceased farmer was under debt and could not repay his loan.
Rahul had last month taken his fight for the farmers to Punjab and had even boarded a train to see their condition in the state.
He, during his visit, said that he had come to Punjab to look at the situation of the farmers, and wanted to analyse the ground reality.
