Desperate BJP is fielding Narendra Modi in Bihar, will backfire: Nitish Kumar

With the battle for upcoming Bihar Assembly Elections heating up, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said on Wednesday that the decision by the BJP to filed Prime Minister Narendra Modi as their chief campaigner showed their desperation.

In an interview  he also said that the Bihar polls were a matter of do or die for the party in the state.

The Bihar CM added that the BJP had exhausted its most potent political weapon and was sure to go down from herein.

Nitish maintained that the saffron party thought some months ago that it would win Bihar but now they were worried.

Further the JD(U) leader questioned the announcement of Rs 1.25 lakh crore special package for Bihar by the PM and said that there was no budgetary support for it.

Kumar reiterated the fact that the PM Modi had hurt the self-respect of the people of Bihar by his political DNA comment and called his alliance with the BJP in Bihar in the past a mistake.

At the same time he accused the saffron party of fomenting communal unrest in the state.

Nitish has formed an alliance with his one time bête noire Lalu Prasad Yadav’s Rashtriya Janata Dal for the Bihar polls.

The JD(U) ended a 17-year alliance with the BJP in June 2013 on the question of ascension of Modi as the BJP’s PM candidate for the General Elections.
